Our Heritage
Introducing the first legal moonshine distillery in Spartanburg County, South Carolina since Prohibition. Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Rock Bottom Distillery is committed to producing premium distilled spirits crafted with the finest ingredients. Our products are carefully made in small batches, ensuring exceptional quality with every sip. In the summer of 2012, two brothers in Upstate South Carolina set out to establish a small craft distillery specializing in authentic Appalachian moonshine. As a leading moonshine distillery in Greenville SC, we pride ourselves on prioritizing quality over quantity, making us one of the most intimate micro-distilleries in the state. Our mashes are crafted from only cracked corn and flaked barley, complemented with sugar and molasses to create a smooth, full-bodied American spirit. We bottle our signature moonshine at 90 proof and present it in the traditional Mason jar. Our flavored offerings, including Apple Pie and Fruited Moonshines, are made exclusively with whole fruit, fruit juice, sugar, and spices—never artificial flavors or preservatives. At Rock Bottom, we aim to preserve a piece of local tradition, honoring simpler times when the contents of the jar mattered far more than the label.
